Okay!!!
So this week I definity knew more of what was going on, and where we were, and who we were seeing, and all that jazz. But most of the time I'm still lost. But, no worries though. Also... Guess who ate Liver this week?
MARTES:
Well tuesday was an amzing day. We left the piso early, and took a series of trains and buses to Pavones, which is where the temple, CCM, and the stake center is. So we zipped down there and got our seats. We had what is called a "Mission Tour." Elder Suares, from the presidency of the 70 visited. It was amazing to hear him speak. So he is from Portugal, and speaks portugese. French is his next lenguage. He spoke to us in a mix of spanish and portugese, which was way cool because he doesnt really know spanish, but we understood every word he said. (Gift of Tongues) He spoke about our purpose as missionaries, and followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. If any of you don't know, our purpose as missionaries is to: "Preach Repentance and Baptize Converts." Cool right? How much simpler can it get? But what is our purpose as followers of Christ? Not everyone who is a follower or disciple of Christ is walking down the street calling people to repentance. But, our purpose is to follow the teaching of Jesus in our own lives and families, and to help others see the light that we have. Faith, Repentace, Baptism, The gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. These are the thigs Jesus taught. These are what we do to follow him. He also talked about some other amazing stuff, but a lot of it about our studies, and key indicadors, and things that arent really applicable to y'all. So anyhow, it was amazing. Then after the conference we went to go pass by the Cordobas, who are this fam that were teaching but they weren't home. But wait... In the same building as them, there are some memebers, so we decided to got visit them for a little bit. Then as we left, we ran into the cordobas in he portal... MIRACLES!
MIERCOLES:
So in the morning we went and did a bunch of pass-by's, but we didnt find anybody in casa. But no pasa nada. Then we found 2 african guys who were really cool, and got their number's. After that, we went home and I made a Bomb Salad with chicken, and sunflower seeds, and red pepper. Then took a nap. (You have to here.. I'm in Spain) Then we left and taught Elouisa who is just the sweetest little spanish lady. She gave us some cola-cao, and some digestive cookies. At least I don't have to worry about eating enough fiber, because she's got me covered. Then we went to the Tenorio's.. So they are this awesome fam from the ward , who are from peru. So my comp has been really talking up the food they make....
(So quick side note: Of all of the countries in South America, Peru, and Brasil make by far the best food. his is only from my experience but, I would say Venezuela is a close 3rd.. So the Tenorios are from Peru, so my comp was in the right.)
Okay. So we get there and they feed us Liver... You can Imagine my disgust. Like it was okay, but it just tastes like sand and blood. But, It was definitly not the worst thing I have eaten, I'll tell ya.
JUEVES:
We did Weekly planning. Then we had a Comida with a fam who just moved into the ward. So it's a mom and daughter. They are from Venezuela. So we met them last Sunday at church, and they invited us over for lunch. Then duaghter just got back from her mission in Malaga. She served in Hermana Mendoza's ward, and knows her family. Anyhow they made us sooooooo much food. They made us arepas, and tacos, and guacamole. I literally coulden't walk after. Then we had a lesson with Jose Antonio, and bless his heart. He is so sweet, but just since he became a memeber things have been really hard fr him. H is trying to do what's right but all forces combinig against him. So we had a lesson with him to see how he was. Then we went back to do some pass-by's and just happened to be at the same bus stop where we met ramon (Our investagator). So as we were waiting for the bus to stop by, this guy stopped and started to talk to me. So as it turns out, he is a memebr for El Salvador who is traveling Europe with his Best friend. Anyhow, is wanted to know where a capilla was. So we gave him the address. Super cool... The Lord put's us where he need's us.
VIERNES:
So we tried this new thing that president suggested which is: as an extension of weekly planning, plan with the elder's who is gunna take who, who will teach who, and like the activites and ll that. So it was really great. Then the Parla Elders called and asked is we had a spare cord for the DVD player. We did , and they met us and we gave it to them. They are giving us P90X in exchange for it. Worth it. Then We went and had a Noche de Hogar with a memeber and our investgator, Juan Carlos. It was really great, and she gave us some really good Lasagna.
SABADO:
So played soccer with the Elder's Quorum. (So all of the old men) But it was super fun. Our team won. Then after our victory.. We left and changed nd had medio-dia. So we were gunna have a lesson with Rosi, but she called at the last minutes and told us that she couledn't, but it actually worked out better, so that way we could get to all the lessones that we needed to, somewhat on time. So after that, we went nd visited a family who lives in our ward boundaries but was asked by the stake to go the Fuenlabrada branch instead. So we payed them a visit. Then we were already late, so we ran to our other lesson. We went to visit Ramon, our amigo with one of our memebrs named hilda. So we get there and were talking with him and everything is going great. Then he was talking about how one of his twins was sick and had been throwing up, but didn't have a fever. Then right after he said that, the little kid threw up. Like a lot... so then we felt really bad, and told him to tke his kid to the doctor, and we would come back another day. So we left. Then we went and Visited the Rojas. The are so precious. It's the mom and dad who are like in thier 80's, and then the kids who are in thier 50's.precious.
DOMINGO:
So we had correlacion before church, and then we had Ward conference. It was aweosme to hear from the Stake Prez, and the Bishop. After church we visited paloma who is just the coolest. So she is super cute, 22, and from paraguay. She is almost done with her mission papers. So we passed-by and chatted about her prep for the mission, and and that. It was awesome. Then we did pass-by's the rest of the night because nobody was home. It was a really good sunday.
Well, the thought of the week is:
32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.
So I finished the Book of Mormon, and these are the second and third to last verses of the book. So i was thinking a lot abut that this week. We are commanded to be perfect, but we all know that's more that a little far fetched, right? Well if we follow the equation, we can get there. Well first off, what does it mean to deny yourself of all ungodliness. Well to me it means to seek after the best gifts or inother words the things of god. The gifts of the spirit, and not after worldy things that have no value. For example the desires of our hearts should be to be charitable and full of love, instead of those new jordans, or nikes, Right?
So then:
Have priorities straight+ Love god= (THEN) will his grace be sufficient that ye may be perfect.
So follow the pattern. Love Y'all and I hope that y'all have a great wee. Also, thanks for all of the amazing and sweet emails. They really do mean a lot. Love you.
