Hello everyone!
How has your week been? Good? Mine too..
Get it? It's like were talking, on the phone...
Okay.
Well this was probably my last full week in Leon.. It's a little sad but I'm excited to experience something new at the same time, because what makes a place special is not the place itself but the people who live there. So because of how much I love the people I want to stay but, that's not how it works. Anyhow so I want some guesses from you guys about where I will go!!! So the options are: The Canary Islands, Madrid (inner-city), Madrid (The burb's), or The Other part of the north.
I will anxiously tally the ballots and when I get transferred I will tell you who received revelation, and who was just guessing.
Anyhow, also this week we had the World Wide Missionary Conference, which was awesome. So in that conference they made some changes to the missionary daily schedule. So normally our schedule for here is:
7am Wake up
7:30am Workout
8:30am Personal study
9:30am Comp study
10:30am Leave and proselyte
2:00-4:00 pm We have medio dia which is when we eat, and study the language, each for an hour.
4:00-9:30 pm We proselyte, and they come home
So this has been the basic schedule for many years, and the thing is, you must follow the schedule exactly, in this order everyday. That is what they changed. So basically now we still have to wake up at the same time and return at the same time, but now we can change the schedule to whatever we want, and whatever will work for our area. We basically have complete freedom over when we do these things, and also for how long. It's crazy.. Also they cut out a bunch of stuff on P-days so now, Our P-day is from
8:30am-6:30pm instead of 11:00-6:30pm like before.
Way more time, and we don't have to study the language, workout, or do comp study.. Blessings.
MARTES:
Okay so we just did a ton of pass-by's and found a few people at home. Then we taught Los Rivera, a family of members which is always fun. Then we did more pass-bys, and then a bunch of calls. So As we were making calls, Lucy came by and hung out with us, and she helped keep us busy. Also I made no-bake cookies.
MIERCOLES:
So I was sick as a dog the whole morning, with the flu or something, but it was terrible. So we stayed inside until medio-Dia, then we left and did some passbys and then watched the missionary training thing. Then, more pass-bys and then bed.
JUEVES:
We did weekly planning, for the last week of the transfer. Always crazy. Then walked around and contacted until our lesson with fanny who is a member. She is from the Dominican republic, so she made us some killer moris sonando which is like this drink with orange juice and milk mixed together. I don't now, but its awesome. So then we talked with her, and by the time we left we were late form our other lesson, so we ran and took the bus, and only showed up 15 minutes late. Not too bad. So our lesson was with Maribel, and her family. It was awesome, because w brought Lucy, and she is a machine. So we taught them about the Sabbath day. The spirit was really Strong. Their family is just really great. They will be baptized soon. Not sure when that is but, soon.
VIERNES:
So we went and visited Hortensia, and she showed us a bunch of pictures of her mission, and her wedding, and when her kids were little. Way guay (cool). Then MEdio-Dia. Okay so I'm not sure if I told you guys about this lady who called us the other day. Her name is Maria Isabel, and she is really catholic. She teaches classes to the girls who are going to do the confirmation, and the first communion into the catholic church. So, you can imagine my surprise when she called us and told us all of this and then asked us if we could come and speak to all of these girls about why were here, and what we do, and basically share our testimonies. So we were like, "Hombre, Claro" which is basically like "Obviously". So we went and met her, and then all of the girls. It was a really cool experience. Then after that we ran to the capilla because i had to pee really bad, and then tught our memebr named Rebbecca, who actually is the first sister missionary from Ecuador. So when i found that out, I took a picure with her. Then after that we invite Maribel and her family, and Los Cachuguay to come and make empanadas. So after we did that we had a Noche de Rama (family home evening) with the branch, and there were a ton of people. Like 30 people came, and the Relief society taught the lesson, and then we ate empanadas, and played signs, and then talked for a little while. It was a crazy success!
SABADO:
So One of the families in our rama moved on saturday so we went and helped them. Us, the Elder's, and pedro and his son. So they live in the same pueblo as president Martinez (the bishop) and his family. So Luis and adriana are there names, and they moved into a little house in San andres which is way closer. Actually we walk by the house that they moved into all the time, so it works out really well, because now we cn visit them. Then after the move we did a bunch of passbys but no one was home.
DOMINGO:
We had the rama conference (ward conference) with all of the leaders from the district. It was really interesting, the topics that the picked and stuff. Also one of our less active mebers just showed up, and stayed the wole time, which was way fun. Then after that we did some more passbys, and then went over and helped out maria- Dolores clean, and fold sheets. She is so funny. She had to iron the sheets, and then fold then. Sheets.. Then we had Los Rivera, which as always was a blast. I ate way too much.
LUNES:
So today is my last p-day here. So I packed one of my suitcases, so that way I don't have to stay up super late on Sunday. Then we went and looked at a bunch of store. I bought a skirt for 6 bucks because of rebajas. Yep and then we ate PANS which is like subway but way better. Yep and now were writing.
