Transfer 7 Week 3
Leganes
Hermana Jarman

Hello...

Well this week was super fun. Well saw lots of miracles, and found lots of new people to teach. I know that sounds lame, but every week, my laziness grows  little bit more. It is hard to remeber everything. The adversary is pushing against me. The "Group email" is growing shorter and shorter, and I apologize.

LUNES:

Well we actually had a really fun P-day with our district and went to some park in Fuenlabrada and fed ducks. Then we all went and had sushi at this really cheap, kind of sketchy place. It wasnt too bad. Then we did some planning with the elders about the then upcoming leaders training meeting that we were gunna teach.

MARTES:

Okay, then we had zone conference. I love zone conference. We talked about how important that is to sharper your instrumens. To become teachers like the lord would want us to be. Then we talked about finding people, and how we should better work with the young people of our areas, and wards. Then on the way back I met this super cool girl on the bus, and didnt get a chance to get her number, but I gave her a book of Mormon, and gave her our number. The next day sh ended up texting us saying she wanted to meet so that was cool.

MIERCOLES:

Then we had a good lesson with some Testigos de Jehovah...  Jehvahs witesses. They believe some wierd stuff, but it was fun though.

JUEVES:

Okay, so we did some weekly planning, and then went over to the Capilla and had a leganes 101 with the elders which is just a weekly meeting that we do with them, for how we will better help the area together. So we did that, and then had a lesson with this wierd guy named Idrobo. I mean he is very sweet, but just a little wierd...  So after that we went and met with James, which in spain is said hummus... They taught us how to make Columbian bañuelos. They were kind of like hush puppies, but filled with cheese.

VIERNES:

Well had more leganes 101 and 102, in preparation for the then upcoming leaders training. We had to plan a lot and study, and practice all that we were going to share.

SABADO:

Well Saturday morning were on our way to futbol when we got a call from some friends if we could meet, so we went back, showered super quick and got dressed. We ran there, and taught a pretty good lesson in English. It was wierd to teach in english, I'm really not used to it. Then more leganes 101... so...  I'M and done planning for awhile, let me tell ya. Ugh...

DOMINGO:

WELL my companion got the flu or something. She had a super high fever, and was in and out of coinciousness. She had on 3 blankets, and was like twitching, and shivering. She had the gripe. But we went to a little church so that way I could help present the trading to the leaders of the ward, that we had planned. It went super awesome. The spirit was super strong, and I definitely cried a little. So... I swear I cry way more now than I used to. It's the worst. Then we went home, played like 2 games of uno, and then went to bed...

LUNES:

Well today we went to the mall, and helped the elders buy pants, and shoes. HNA Jarman bought new sandals that are super cute. One is named Lola, and the other one, Sydi. Then we just walked around and went to the Capilla and played cards and spoons and emailed. So...

Well I totally love yall, and I just wanted to share a little bit of what we shared with all of the leaders of our ward:

Why were you born when you were born? Why weren't you born in 911, or 1215? Is it because some computer in the cosmos blipped and you came out? I don't buy that. I believe that you were born in this dispensation, with the gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth today, because you were somebody before you got here. If you had any idea who you were before you got here, the hair would stand up on the back of you neck. Joseph Smith said on one occasion, "If I were to tell you who I am, you'd slay me for blasphemy." Wisely never told anyone who he was, but he knew.

On one occasion, President McKay, president of the Church, several years before his death, on a Sunday evening, didn't have anything to do, so he took his wife and said, " Let go to a fireside." They went down to a stake center. There were lots of cars in the parking lot so he walks in and Their stake president was speaking to a group of young people. Eight hundred of them. President McKay and his wife walked in. The stake president about swallowed his tie. Walked down to about the eighth row. He said, "Don't get excited. I want to hear what you have to say." The president continued with his talk. About halfway through his talk, he stopped and said, " You know young people, I fell impressed to tell you that before the world was, before the world was, in that war in heaven, each of you in this room served as  captains and generals in the Lord's army." And then he finished his talk, he looked down president McKay and noticed President McKay was drilling him with his eyes. His heart stopped. He sat down and thought," Boy, what have I said?" The closing prayer ended. He jumped up and he ran down to President McKay. Looked up to President Mckay. Everybody looked up to President McKay, he's a great big guy, and he said, " You know, President McKay, I got a little carried away in my talk tonight. Did I say anything that was inappropriate?" He said, " No, you didn't say anything that was inappropriate, you were just inaccurate. "Well, what did I say?" He said, "There were no captains here tonight. They were all generals." And he said, " Don't ever forget it." And he turned around and walked out.

I have a testimony of that, brothers and sisters. If you were to know who you were before you got here, it would scare you. You know what that means? It means we don't have the right to do all of the dumb stuff a lot of other young people in the world are doing, fooling around with drugs and alcohol and premarital sex and all that dumb stuff. We don't have the right . Why? because we know too much. Why? because we're here because we were somebody before we came here, and the Lord has sent us here to accomplish some great task.

Pretty cool Right? It sure pumped me up.

Also:

- President David O. McKay recalled the story of a boat full of young men floating down a river toward a dangerous waterfall. Noticing the dangerous situation, a man standing on the shore shouted at the young men to turn around, but they could not see the waterfall and ignored him. Again he shouted a warning, and again they laughingly dismissed his warning. Soon, however, they were in the midst of the rapids. They tried desperately to turn the boat around, but it was too late. President McKay taught, “It is one thing to stand on the shore and cry: ‘Young men, ahoy! There is danger ahead!’ It is another thing to row into the stream and, if possible, get into the boat with the young men, and by companionship, by persuasion, … turn the boat from the rapids. … Let us get into their lives.”

Even better...   well I love y'all and I hope that you all have great weeks and that you stay safe. Don't text and drive... kisses!!!

Transfer 7 week 1

Hello!

This week has been amazing as always but also a little bit hard. There were definitley some up's and down's.

LUNES:

So we just had a normal, chill day here in Leganes. We just hung around the piso, and went shopping, ad then we went to the mall to write the ole family. The thing is that Monday was actually a national holiday, so even though the mall was open, only the restaurants were open, so we just sat outside the Apple store, and stole their "Gratis WIFI." So that was fun, then we just did some studies, and made some calls. It was pretty good.

MARTES:

So In the morning we did some studies, and then left and went and taught Elouisa! She is great. She reminds me a lot of my grandmothers. She is an older spanish lady, who is ust the cutest thing. She always makes us Cola-Cao which is just spanish hot choclate. It doesn't matter if its hot or cold, always cola-cao... I love it. She also has this black cat with super long hair named Wanda. She is a rascal. Mos of the time were there, Elouisa complains about the hair that wanda sheds, etc... It is really funny. So we taught her how to search for things in the scriptures, and how to use her Gospel Library App. She told us, "Well I am not going to learn how to do it today, but with lots of practice, I can!"  I agree. I mean, there are lots of hard things that we have to learn how to do, but if we try our hardest, and practice at it; the Lord will make up the rest. It's cool.

MIERCOLES:

Hermana Jarman is an aunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7lbs 3oz & 20 inches later, a small Chloe was born! She is super cute, but like all newborn's, looks like a little alien.

Then we had Disrict meeting in Parla. It was really awesome, and I learnd a lot about how important to have knowledge. Without knowledge we have no power. So the more that you know, the more you KHOL's... Wait...? The more power you have. Along with that, we talked a lot about our studies, and how we can make them more effective so that we can get more things done with the end of becoming knowledable, powerful teachers. Then after that we went to District Eat, and everybody ate pizza at Dominoes, but we brought salads and fruit.. #Contractskinny... So after district eat, we went and taught a family from the ward. Los del Amor. Their last name is literally, "Of Love." Cool right? Yeah so we went and presented the Family plan to them. They loved us! Then we went and taught our amiga Roxana.. I was a bomb lesson, and the spirit was sooooooo strong.

JUEVES:

Okay, so on Thursday not much happened. The best thing to happen this week happened though. Tender mercies. So as I have talked about a little bit before. We have been really making a push to work with, and earn the trust of our members. So we made a family plan to help the people of the ward have lots of ideas, and goals to share the gospel. So we have presented that, and it is and has gone over amazingly. So as a result, we are seeing lost more progress with member missionary work, etc. So to help the ward accomplish some other things, the missionaries, Elder Perez, Elder Tribett, Hermana Jarman and I have made a plan to have a missionary week in our ward. Okay, so what is a missionary week? Well it is going to be kind of like a youth conference but with just our ward. We have lots of youth, and young adults so we want to have them go on like a mini-mission. So they would get a mission call, which we would make. Then they would be assigned a companion, either older or younger. Then they will assigned a family to teach, and a lesson to teach them. We will have firesides, and trainings, and fun like activities during this week to help them plan what they should teach. During this week, not only will we be having trainings and activities to help the youth, but also the leaders of the ward. We will talk about ward council, and about how to share the gospel, and the ward mission plan. It will be awesome. Then to end the week, after all of the preparation the youth will go out as companionships, and will teach their families. Then afterwards we will have a big fireside where all of the members can invite their actual friends and all of them, including youth can include their experiences about their lessons, etc. It is going to be awesome.  So we planned that with Jenni, and Jeison, who are the yea leaders. Money.

VIERNES:

I was struck by sickness. Dairy from a member. He mad jus milkshakes and I couldn't say no, so the next day I was suffering the consequences.

SABADO:

I recovered, and we went and played futbol with the elders investigators. It was way fun! But, before then we did this super hard workout, and so I wasn't playing my hardest, because I was a little weak, but It was still fun. Then just studies, and planning, and then we went to visit Roxana out friend, and she wasn't home, so by the time we got back to the piso, the day was already over. But, the trip was a success because hermana Jarman met this super sweet guy, who gave her a hug, and brightened our day, even though we aren´t supposed to hug people, and I bought a super cute notebook from a Chino so.....  Worth it.

DOMINGO:

So we had church which was so tender. Mothers day is the week before it is in the states, so we celebrated, and all of the mujeres got roses! It was so cute. Then in the relief society, the primary came in a sang to us, and gave all of their moms letters that they wrote. I was weeping the whole time. It was terrible. Then we taught gospel principles which was way fun. We learned about the covenant people of the lord, and what that means. Way cool. Then, I was feeling super crappy so we went to the piso, and I went to sleep. My stomach has been super weird like this whole last week, so I'm not really sure whats wrong. Hopefully it will get better here pretty quick. It sucks to be sick.

Well, that was our week. I saw lots of miracles, and lots of heartbreaks but I won't go into those! I have learned a lot, but mostly that we can do nothing without the lord. It is his work, and we are just his tools. Love you all!! and I hope that you all give your mom's big hugs, and kisses, and buy her, her favorite flowers and tell her how awesome she is! Love ya

Transfer 6 week 6
Leganes
Hermana Jarman

Well... What can I say about this week?

So this week has been amazing. I know i always say that, but It's just who I am! But seriously though.. We taught the most lessons that I have ever taught in a week, this week. We Found a new invetagatos named raul. We are teaching the most prepared family that I have ever met. They seriously are GOLDEN.  We are teaching a super sweet bolivian lady named Roxana who also knows the church is true, but is just a little scaed to take the leap of baptism, because she wants her whole family to join with her, but we are working with her on setting a baptismal date. That is the "DL," of the people that we are currently teaching who could be baptized relatively quick.

I saw that they came out with the new Red Iphone... That is exciting. Oh!!! I found out today, that in the mall here, Parque Sur, they will put in a 5 guys! So I am so waiting for that. Now, all they need here is a Whataburger and a Chic-fil-a and then I will be content.

LUNES:

So my companion and I were still sick, but because it was our last P-day as a district before transfers, we decided to have a district P-day with Leganes, Parla, and Fuenlabrada. So we all went to this park in our area that is kind of like really super far away called Parque Polvoranca. I mean, its cool and all, but just so far... Walking... I mean I walk al day, so the last thing I want to do on P-day is go hiking! But we went and it was super fun. We played volleybol, uno, and frisbee. We made salads. Then, I was doing fine but my compnion was dragging. She was like sweting, and had a fever. She almost threw up on the way home. It was gross. So then we went home. I made her some soup, and she drank some agua and hit the sack. Then I called Hermana Pack, and asked her how to fix jarman... She told me to put her on the BRAT diet. That is Hna Pack's answer for everything.  If you don't knoe, the BRAT diet is Banana, Rice, Apple sauce, and Toast. Everyhing we didn't have. So In the end I found some rice and made that for her. The BRAT diet does not work.

MARTES:

So all of Tuesday my companion was sick. We were so bored. Being a missionary and being sick sucks really bad, because you just want to leave and do stuff, and even if you can't leave there is nothing to do at the apartment. We ended up playing some hide and go seek. It was fun, but there is only some many places to hide in our piso. Then we watched the best 2 years, 6 times. More rice...

MIERCOLES:

Well, my companion woke me up at like 6 in the morning, crying. So I woke up and figured that someone had died or something, but she told me that she had been having really really sharp pains in her heart and then when she had had them for a few hours she started to freak out, thinking that she was having a heart attack. So she woke me up, and i gave her some tylenol, and we called the elders and they came over and gave her  blessing. So we called Hna pack yet again. I told her that my companion was dying, and asked her what to do. She prescribed the BRAT diet... Cureall. But then she said that there had been bug going around, and heart pain was a symptom and stuff so... Then we had a lesson with the lopez family. The golden one with David, Yisena, Alejandro, and Eric. Even though my companion was still sick, she toughed it out and we went and taught them. It was an amzing lesson. We sharde the pln of salvation with them and they Flipped!

JUEVES:

So we had District meeting. It was amazing, nd we talked a lot about how important it is to go to church, or how important it is to help our friends come to church. So ater that, we went back the piso, and studid, and cleaned like nobody's buisness. We swept, mopped, washed, and cried. The reason that we cleaned so extremely is becuse the owner of our piso called us and told us that they are trying to sell it, and that because of that they will start to show it to people. So we cleaned. So the realtor, and sme young couple came and looked at it thursday night. It was wierd but nice that the piso is so clean. We had 15 bags of trash. 15! It was so much better.

VIERNES:

Okay. So there is this awesome family that just moved into the ward fresh from peru... I mean FOB. So we went and visited them with the elders, and pesented them the family plan. It was super fun to talk to them, and play with their kids. Although, the spanish tha they speak is super diffrent from what people here speak. People in south America speak Spanish, but here we speak Castellano, which is considered a diffrent language. They use diffrent words, sayings, jokes, and they manner in which they speak. It is so diffrent. The ward that I am serving in right now is 90% South american, mainly from Peru and Ecuador, but all of them have lived in spain for over 10 years and have lost their strong accents, and now speak using vosotros, and use spanish words instead of many latin american words. So, it was crazy to hear legit peruvian slang words, and fresh off the boat peruvians.. Although of all the food that I have ever eaten on my mission. The best food is Peruvian.. It is always amazing. After them we did some studies, and then had English class. It was fun. This memeber named Jorgito came just to talk...In spanish. He really just loves the missionaries, and he has lots of friends in english class. Then we went to the Garcia Famliy. Then made us a pancake feast! It was sups good.

SABADO:

So Normally on Saturdys we play futbol with the ward, and the young Chavali's (Young Teenagers)... But, unfortuanately it was raining, and cold again so no one came. Except Jorgito... So we just sat akwardly with him talking, and waiting for other people to com and play, but no one did. For some reason I felt like we should just stay a little longer... So we stayed, jorgito left nd we were studying, when al of the sudden this guy named Raul, who we hae been trying to teach shows up, and jorgito comes in and says, "Let's teach him, I will help Y'all." So we were like, "YES!!!"  So we taught him the plan of salvacion! It was money. Then, we studied and then went and taught this lady named Maria. We shared the family plan with her, and she loved it. She said she has been waiting for someone to help her set goals like this. So that was fun. Then we went and taught this sweet bolivian named Roxana. So her daughter is a memeber named carla. Roxana has been investgating the church for like a yer. She knows it is true but just has a bit of fear to make the change due to family issues. We are helping her right now to think of a baptismal date. It should be good.

DOMINGO:

So we had church. It was really good. Also this memeber walked up to me right before sacrament and gave me some papars and said, "Could you translate this for me?" I was like, "Okay, but why me?" Then he walked away. So I translated it, and I felt very flatter that he thought I could speak spanish , and english well enough to translate stuff. It was cool. Then we did studies. Then we went and taught the lopez family of gold agin. We talked about baptism and invited them to think pray and search for an answer to whether or not they should be baptized. It was a really powerful lesson. Money...

LUNES:

TOday were just kicking it. Were at the mall, but today is a holiday in spain, so everything is closed.. But the apple store has the best WIFI..

This is what I translated. It is a dedicatory prayer that opened up spain for the preaching of the gospel in 1969...

Anyhow, I love yall a ton, and I hope that you have great weeks!.
