Oh man.. esta semana ha sido una locura! Estábamos por todos los lados, buscando y enseñando y echando siestas? Just kidding... No but seriously this week has been crazy! We have see so many MIRACLES as always and have seen so many awesome blessings.
So a few things that happened. So on monday night we were feeling a little bit down. We have worked so hard toward our goal of one baptism. So hard! So we were going over our weekly planning and looking at all of our friends, when we realized that of all of the people that we were teaching, none of them could get baptized this transfer for a lot of diffrent reasons. It was a little bit disheartening (learned what that meant 2 days ago) but we didn't lose our faith. So that night as we were laying in bed, right before praying and all that, we got a call from the elders from fuerteventura. They called us and gave us this amazing reference of this lady who was investaging the church back in Madrid and then moved and lost contact, and then got the elders number and started to tell them that she really wanted to be baptized and become a member of the church! Can you believe that? And the best part is that she lives in Las Palmas, like 10 minutes from us! Miracles! Crazy so we are going to meet with her this week some time and then baptize her!!!
Then we met with our friend Iris, and felt very strongly that we needed to meet with her whole family and her husband for her to be able to progress so we told her that, and she then invited us to come over for a lunch to introduce ourselves and then to share a message with them all. So I take that as 2 miracles. Food, and baptism. So what more can you ask for!
Then.... Well. This last week we have been starving because we were waiting on reimbursements, and on my companions mission card (still waiting on that) so we couldn't but GROCERIES until Wednesday during lunch. But we did buy some groceries, but somehow forgot to buy water. Yeah I don't know. I think we weren't in our right minds due to dehydration. So... So on Thursday after the noche de hogar, as we were waiting for the bus to go home, we only had 8 minutes to run to the grocery store and buy water and then return in time to catch the bus. A daunting task a least. But with all of the courage we could must, we took off in a sprint for Hiper-Dino, to buy 3, 8l jugs of water. And 2 oranges. (If any of you know me, you know that I hate oranges not because of the taste, but the stickiness, so the oranges were because of my companion.) As we booked it and found the water, we swept it off the shelf and ran for the register. As we got inline no one could stop us. So as we place our water down on the register, this old lady comes up behind us and starts saying that she had put her cart there, and so then in the most passive aggressive way possible we tried to move to another register. But then she felt bad and let us stay. After all of that, we speed walked to the bus stop with one minute to spare. Blessings! Then we had water.
So after that we had zone conference which was amazing as usual. We talked mostly about setting goal and making plans to acheive them. So that was informative and useful. I am definitely trying to set better, more realistic goals, and then make detailed realistic plans to achieve them. I have high hopes that thighs will go according to plan... (See what I did there?)
Then we had the Piso Tour! Our mission president and his family came to our piso, and we talked for a little while and they checked our piso to make sure that we had everything that we needed and to make sure it was clean. It was. We got a celestial piso! And chocolate. Then we had our interviews with president, which as always we great. With him I TALKED about his Spanish and what he does to make it so great, because he speaks like someone from Chile. It's amazing, because he doesn't have the least bit of accent! So we talked about it. Pretty cool. Then we went and ate lunch at this place called Big 7. Yeah so, not much more to say there.
So Sunday! Sunday was the best day ever! So we had invited our friend Carmen (the Hungarian man) to come to church. So we called him Sunday morning, and I had faith that he would answer his phone and then he did! So not only that, but then we we got to church, he was there waiting for us! So I translated for him for all of church which is really tiring, and hard, but fun. I think that he really enjoyed it and felt the spirit really strong. So we will meet with him soon and help him to prepare to be baptized!
There are so many other amazing miracles and funny stuff, but my hands are tired so I just want to share a cool story with y'all!
In January, an earthquake in the central mountainous region of Colombia struck the city of Armenia. The stake presidents, concerned, called the Area Presidency in Quito to find out the needs of members living in Armenia. The district president confirmed that many members of the Church had lost their homes and sought refuge in four chapels that had not been damaged but in urgent need of food and clothing. Relief Society and priesthood leaders set to work, and donations from members of the entire country were received in a designated chapel in each city. Little Neidi, seven years old, had gone with her parents to the chapel of Cali and watched while Bishop Villarreal received donations from the members. "Bishop, how can I help the children of Armenia?" "Neidi, your parents have already helped." She went to the other end of the chapel and noticed that there were not many clothes or shoes for children. She returned to the Bishop's side with Her shoes in Her hand. "Now I know how I can help. Please give these shoes to a girl from Armenia who has lost her own. " And with her bare feet she walked away in silence.
Love y'all bunches and bunches! I hope that yap, have great weeks and that you always remember to smile and show people your love for them! Much love from the Canaries!!!

Well... This week has been money. Literal money. Like gold bars.We worked so hard, and got to the Piso just exhausted, every night. Literally have never fallen asleep so quickly before in my life. To start the week out we went to do cookie runs, and on the way there we found like 3 new investigators. The first time I ever talked to somebody on scaffolding. He wasn't interested. But we found lots of cool gente (people). We gave away some cookies, and saved some souls. Then we had district meeting, and it was lit. We talked about finding people and helping the lost sheep come back into the fold and stuff like that. I really felt the spirit. I mean I always feel the spirit, but I talked about the restoration of the gospel, and I learned a lot as I studied it and it was just that much better. My companions brother entered the MTC in Provo. He is going to the California, Redlands mission. So we made a really funny video that I will try to attach about basically how the typical mission morning is. It's pretty good. Also my companion, hermana Storheim hit 6 months so we're going to burn a skirt or something for her. That should be dangerous.SO I wanted to tell y'all some MIRACLES that we saw this week. The first one is this:So it was the first of the month, so we went to a place called San telmo to fill up our bus card for the month. San telmo is in Las palmas which is about a 45 minute bus ride. So on the way down, I was sitting next to this lady on the phone. I was going to talk to her because I could tell from her accent that she was from Argentina! So I was pumped to talk to her. So I started to pray for her to get off the phone, so that I could talk to her. It didn't work, but all of the sudden I felt impressed to move seats, and to sit by this big black man like 3 rows in front of me. My first thought was, " he already saw me, that's awkward and I don't want him to think that I am flirting with him." But I felt impressed again to move, so then I did and we started talking and it turns out that he was an old investigator of the elders, and had been to church a few times, but wasn't really interested. His name was Alexander. So after we had a nice chat and stuff, the bus stopped and we got off, and filled up our bus cards. Then, like normal we went the wrong way looking for a bus stop and ended up on the wrong side. We walked put into this big beautiful park, and saw some live music. Well, I say live music but it was this wired little band of anime kids playing some funky instruments, so we were mesmerized for a good 5 minutes and then turned around and headed back for the other side. This whole day we had been fasting and praying to find new people to teach, who could be ready to baptize this transfer. So as he were walking back, my companion asked," wait, why are we fasting again?" I told her that we were fasting for new investigators, and as I said that... A man stopped us, and asked if we spoke English. His name is Carmen. He is from Hungary, and has taken all of the lessons and wanted to get baptized but wasn't able to because he had to go back to his country. So we talked with him, and taught him a bit. He is awesome. So I thought it was cool because I don't think that we would have found Carmen, had we not talked with Alexander. Even though Alexander wasn't really interested, I think that the Lord was testing us to see if we would do what he asked, and because we did it, he blessed with someone who is truly, truly prepared for the gospel, and prepared to change his life! Sups cool. But this week I was thinking a lot about how the Lord qualify us when he calls us. That means that if the Lord asks us to do something, that he will give us the strength, power, or miracles to achieve it. He wants us to do his will, but we must trust that he will help us do what he requires of us.So my grandma sent me this really cool story that I think really shows this fact. It's cool. Read it....One morning we thought we would go and gather gooseberries. Father Tanner, as we famialary called the good, patriarchal elder, Nathan Tanner, harnessed a span of horses to a light wagon and, with two sister by the name of Lyman, his little granddaughter and me, started out. When we reached the woods, we told the old gentleman to go to a house in sight and rest himself while we picked the berries. It was not long before the little girl and I strayed some distance from the rest, when suddenly we heard shouts. The little girl thought it was her grandfather and was about to answer, but I restrained her, thinking it might be Indians. We walked forward until in sight of Father Tanner, when we saw he was running his team around. We thought nothing strange at first, but as we approached we saw Indians gathering around the wagon, whooping and yelling as others came and joined them.We got into the wagon to start when four of the Indians took hold of the wagon wheels to stop the wagon, and two others held the horses by the bits, and another came to take me out of the wagon. I then began to be afraid as well as vexed, and asked Tanner to let me get out of the wagon and run for assistance. He said, “No poor child; its too late”. I told him they should not take me alive. His face was as white as a sheet. The Indians had commenced to strip him—had taken his watch andhandkerchief—and while stripping him, were trying to pull me out of the wagon. I began silently to appeal to my Heavenly Father. While I was praying and struggling, the spirit of the Almighty fell upon me and I rose with great power; and no tongue can tell my feelings. I was happy as I could be. A few moments before I saw worse than death staring me in the face, and now my hand was raised by the power of God and I talked to those Indians intheir own language. They let go the horses and wagon, and all stood in front of me while I talked to them by the power of God. They bowed their heads andanswered, “Yes”, in a way that made me know what the meant. And the little girl and Father Tanner looked on in speechless amazement. I realized our situation; their calculation was to kill Father Tanner, burn the wagon, and take us women prisoners. This was plainly shown me.When I stopped talking, they shook hands with all three of us and returned all they had taken from Father Tanner, who gave them back the handkerchief and I gave them berries and crackers. By this time, the other two women came up, and we hastened home. The Lord gave me a portion of the interpretation of what I had said, which wasas follows:“I suppose you Indian warriors think you are going to kill us? Don’t you know the Great Spirit is watching you and knows everything in your heart? We have come out here to gather some of our Father’s fruit. We have not come to injure you; and if you harm us, or injure one hair of our heads, the Great Spirit shall smite you to the earth, and you shall not have power to breathe another breath. We have been driven from our homes, and so have you; we have come out here to do good, and not to injure you. We are the Lord’s people and so are you; but you must cease your murders and wickedness; the Lord is displeased with it and will not prosper you if you continue in it. You think you own all this land, this timber, this water, all the horses. Why, you do not own one thing on earth, not even the air you breathe—it all belongs to the Great Spirit.”
