Well.... Pues....
This week has been really bomb. We have found lots of super cool people and then we saw some weird, but cool stuff.
To be honest this week has been really great but I don't have a clue what to write about.
Well I guess that I will just start from the beginning.
Well on Monday we ate with our friend Iris. She is cool and Spanish. She has a crazy family. We went there and she made us some really good ropa vieja which is kind of like a just meat and garbanzo beans. So... people here love garbanzo beans. We also ate gofio in 4 forms. Then we just chilled and wrote and ate some sandwiches and then headed out. Then we got a call from this random but named Clifford who said that he wanted us to come and teach him in his house. So we got his address and realized that it is that same address of a reference that we got from some members the week before so logically I assumed that the members had called him or something. But then I ask Clifford if he knows the members and he said no. Not to mention that the reference that we got from the members was for a girl named Lillian who hadn't lived there for 6 months. So that was cool. Then we went and taught our member friend Vanessa some English and ate some really good nuts from this chuche store.
Okay the other big thing to happen this week is our friend Kalman! So I know that I have talked about him before but he is this super great guy from Hungary who speaks English. So we have met with him a ton lately and he is progressing really well. He came to church last Sunday, and he has a baptismal date for the 9th, or September! So we have been able to teach him the restoration, the plan or salvation, gospel of Jesus Christ, and the word or wisdom! He loves all of it! We went and played basketball with him and some members and introduced him to Luis! Our recent convert! He is the best thing ever, and really helped him open up and stuff. Then Luis helped us with a lesson, and it went awesome!
So this week we found lots of awesome people. Lots of African people. We met these two awesome guys from.... Africa! One from Sierra Leon, who was named mustafa... like from the Lion king? It was pretty funny. He has never heard of the movie, but he was pumped to see it. Then right after that we met this guy from editorial new guinea, and his name is celestino! He is actually really cool. He was really interested so we met and taught him a little bit! Then we met this who super cute family from Nigeria, who were super interested. Then as we were walking, we met this 3 guys from Ghana, who were named Dee, Francis, and Peter. It was super cool to talk with them in English. So we are really excited to baptize the first Africa person in our ward. As we were there talking to all of these black people we ran into an antichrist, and then a a devout Catholic that doesn't believe in God. So that was fun, but not out of the norm... We also are teaching this super cool lady named Mari pino who is Spanish and really nice. So she has this dog named jimmy... The last time I visited them Jimmy peed on me so I was a little salty still the second time I went, but I was on the defensive and I bit his ear, and then he submitted to me. Oh jimmy...
Then in our free time, we had lots of talks about feeling, which I'm normally not into but it was good, and then we also ate a lot of popcorn.
I have been thinking a lot about a quote that I read.
"You cannot be too good. Patience is heavenly, obedience is noble, forgiveness is merciful, and exaltation is godly; and he that holds out faithful to the end shall in no wise lose his reward. A good man will endure all things to honor Christ, and even dispose of the whole world, and all in it, to save his soul" (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith, p. 356).
You truly can never be too good. There are always things to change and do and become. That is the beauty of life; that you can always become better than you currently are. Now even though that may seem overwhelming, just remember that, for that reason we came. We came to this earth at this time to become who God knew that we could be. So even though it seems hard, and at times impossible, he wants you to succeed, and has given you all the tools and instructions that you need to accomplish it!
Psalms 27: 14
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
